On The Road Again

Hello everyone!

We have a slight interruption of the how-vaulting-works series for the second WEG Selection Trial: Somis, California on April 26th and 27th.  This one will be huge as it’s the first one where all the A-Teams (Teams of 6 vaulters with up to 3 on the horse at once) are finally ready and coming out to show what they’ve got!

The past two weeks have been spent training hard for our first team competition; from the run-in and bow, to the freestyle itself, we’ve been going through everything meticulously making sure it’s as good as it can be for the big day.  We’ve also worked on flexibility through yoga and lots of stretching.  As for my individual routines, I’ve made a few small changes to them just to make them more streamlined and to be sure I’m within that one minute time frame with as much beautiful performance as possible!  Pas de deux hasn’t changed too much, other than that we’ll be receiving our new uniforms soon, hopefully before the competition this weekend!

Tomorrow will be a big packing day and a light training day as my team prepares for the comparatively short, 6 hour drive down to the Somis, CA on Thursday.  After unpacking everything and taking care of our wonderful horses, we’ll get a good nights sleep before Friday, our warm up day which is kind of like how you see gymnasts doing podium training the day before the meet.  Saturday and Sunday will be very long and exhausting but productive as we will be competing all day both days!

All of us at Pacific Coast are super excited to the be fierce contenders for those coveted top stops which earn teams the chance to compete at the CHIO Aachen and the World Equestrian Games!

See you soon with more updates!
