An official listing of finalists, as well as the commemorative “Show Spot” program will be available on prior to the weekend’s prestigious finals. The KL Performance Horses Non Pro is scheduled for Friday and the Open is scheduled for Saturday. Admission is free to the public!

NRHA Open 5 & Up – GR Hug A Jewel ridden by Lill and The Cocked Gun ridden by Fonck Tie
Excitement and high level competition made the NRHA Euro5,000-added Open 5 & Up class exhilarating to watch as 31 riders made their way into the Ostbayernhalle in Kreuth. Nina Lill and GR Hug A Jewel (Solanoswarlee Boy x Hug A Freckle) owned by Vanety Korbus and Bernard Fonck with The Cocked Gun (Gallo Del Cielo x Katie Gun), owned by Gildo and Giuliano Mercuri, posted a 221 this evening. They decided to let the scores stand without a run-off and be co-champions.“This mare is really cool and did really well for me tonight,” said Nina about her mount.  “I will be showing her again in the Open on Friday, so I didn’t ask her for all she had, so I’m very pleased with the 221 we scored tonight.  Her owner, Vanety, will be showing her in the Non Pro here, and I know that GR Hug A Jewel can do just as well with her as she did with me.”

“Six weeks ago Gildo (Mercuri) asked me if I would take his horse in training and, having seen The Cocked Gun show with Gennaro in the past and knowing his capabilities, I told him that I would be more than happy to do so,” said Bernard after the awards presentation.  “ I’m really looking forward to showing him during the year and I know that things will get better as we still have to get to know each other better.”

Third place honors went to Martina Krajcarova’s Oakies Red Berry (Country Bay Berry x WB Miss Docs Oak) ridden by Morey Fisk  after having posted a 219.5.

Arcese Novice Horse Non Pro L2 – Baeck and Donna Arc Escapes BB Take the Win
Once the consolation was over, the Arcese Euro800-added Novice Horse Non Pro L2 class was held.  In a field of 32 riders, Susy Baeck of Belgium posted a 214, enough to take first place honors riding Donna Arc Escapes BB (Don Quixote Escapes x Arcy Cutter King BB), owned by Tuur Leflot.  “This is the first time I have shown this mare,” said Susy.  “Originally she was my husband’s horse, but then I just had to steal her from him.  I’m really happy with this win.  The plan with her is to do an embryo transfer with Whizasunnysailor BB and then to show her in both the Italian Derby and the European Derby.  She was really good with me today and what I really liked about her today were her spins and her stops.”

Second place honors went to Sheza Spook Lil Step (Spooks Gotta Gun x  ND Jazzy Step On It) and Piet Mestdagh of Belgium.  The pair closed their run with a score of 212.
