Is anyone missing horses? Three horses seen in the Mallet State Park in Schoharie County by college students while on a field trip were recently reported to Stolen Horse International. The students reported them as being loose in the forest and thin.

With the help of volunteers through Stolen Horse International many horses are recovered. We hope to assist in successfully identifying the horses and we are requesting help in disseminating information publicly as soon as possible.

With hunting season upon us we hope provide awareness to the hunters in the area for safety of the horses. Hunters, if aware of this information may also be able to help locate the horses.
Winter is coming. Hopefully the horses and their owner can be located before the weather turns bitterly cold.
Many people who have heard of this sighting are asking the same questions. Is it possible these horses could be victims of the flooding related to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee? Could they have survived this long?
“Anything is possible,” states Debi Metcalfe, founder of Stolen Horse International. “This could be related to horses who just wandered away from a local farm, victims of the floods or anything in-between. No one really knows but we are hopeful that some of the flood victims are still out there somewhere. We never give up hope!”
Two small searches have been completed by local people without positive results. A larger search party hopefully will be organized soon.
Anyone wishing to assist in the search party should go to Stolen Horse International, Inc. aka NetPosse.com’s Facebook page for updated information. A map and updated information can also be found at the link below.http://www.netposse.com/view_report.asp?reportid=1771

Stolen Horse International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. SHI was founded in 1998 by Debi Metcalfe after she and her family spent nearly a year trying to locate Idaho, their spotted racking horse mare. Idaho was recovered when a flyer they had posted at a convenience store resulted in the tip that led them to their horse in another state. Please call Stolen Horse International for pictures and updates to this story.
