Atkinson has represented Canada at the World Equestrian Games and the Pan American Games, most recently earning team silver with Carolyn and Robin Hoffos’ Gustav at the 2011 Pan American Games. He has experience at the highest levels of eventing on numerous horses and has competed successfully at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event.

When not riding and instructing, Atkinson works on designing and building cross-country courses throughout California and the western[MB1]  United States, including a yearly trip to North Carolina.

At the Colorado Horse Park clinic, Atkinson will concentrate on cross-country pacing and speed.

“My clinics focus on helping riders understand how to jump solid fences at speed,” Atkinson said. “The actual size of the fence and speed will depend on the level of rider, but we will work to maintain balance and control.”

Very few spots remain for this clinic. Click here for an entry form.

Then, you’ll want to make your plans for the Colorado Horse Park Horse Trials.

“Our Horse Trials are filling up, but we still have space,” said Vivien Van Buren from the Colorado Horse Park. “We will offer divisions Intro through Intermediate. On Friday, May 30, we will have paid stadium jumping schooling rounds.  Saturday will be dressage and stadium jumping and Sunday will be cross-country.”
