(Pequannock, NJ – November 20, 2012) – Breyer Animal Creations® is proud to announce the forthcoming Traditional®portrait  model of Totilas, the world’s reigning dressage champion!

Totilas is the international sensation that has taken the dressage world by storm. The 2000 Dutch Warmblood stallion was the first horse ever to score above 90 in dressage competition. With his extraordinary movement, elasticity, rhythm, balance and confidence in the ring, Totilas has had a major impact on the sport of dressage. His accolades include winning three gold medals for dressage at the 2010 World Equestrian Games: Team Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle. At the 2009 European Dressage Championship he won gold medals for Team Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle, and silver in Grand Prix Special. In 2010 Totilas won the Fédération Equestre Internationale’s (FEI) Best Athlete Award, which is given to the athlete (equine or human) that has “demonstrated exceptional skill in the arena and taken the sport to a new level.”

Purchased by Paul Schockemöhle and Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff after the World Equestrian Games, Totilas now leads a double life as both breeding stallion and top-level dressage competitor with rider Matthias Alexander Rath. Already a legend in his sport, there is sure to be much more to come from this dressage superstar!

Breyer’s Vice President of Marketing, Stephanie Macejko, traveled to Germany to visit Paul Schockemöhle’s Performance Sales International (P.S.I.) to see Totilas and Matthias in action. Breyer created two brand new sculptures of this amazing horse: a Traditional portrait model in 1:9 scale showing him in a brilliant extended trot, and a 5” resin of Totilas illustrating his animated piaffe. Macejko said, “It is an honor for Breyer to create these portrait models of Totilas. We have a 60-year tradition of making models of the world’s greatest horses, and Totilas is precisely that.” Linsenhoff added, “We are excited to bring Totilas, and an appreciation of dressage, to his fans and horse lovers around the world.”

The 5” resin Totilas sculpture is now available, and the Traditional portrait model of Totilas will be released January 2013 at your favorite Breyer retailer and on
