2008 Lingh Foal, “Landmark VT” Wins at Dressage at Lexington

“Landmark VT”, a 2008 colt by Lingh out of the Dutch mare Odet II (Jorn – Faram – Flamingo), had an incredible showing at the Dressage at Lexington Breed Show on July 11th.  Winning both of his classes by large margins, Landmark VT also claimed the Reserve Champion Colt and Reserve Champion Young Horse titles!

With an incredible 85.6% in the Colts of 2008 Class, Landmark VT earned the highest score given for any presentation that day out of over 70 horses.  Judge Lilo Fore awarded Landmark VT scores of 8.8 for conformation, walk, and general impression.  Comments included: “elegant head and neck, well angled shoulder, nice loose elbow, covers ground, swinging in the back, shows elasticity and carries himself nicely uphill.”

In the ISR/Oldenburg IBC, Judge Lilo Fore gave Landmark VT an overall 77.9%, the second highest IBC score awarded.  Comments from the IBC class were: “elegant, harmonious, nice style, clear rhythm, and will be a nice riding horse.”

Landmark’s dam “Odet II” also had an impressive showing in Lexington, winning her Broodmare Class under judge Kristi Wysocki and earning Champion Mare and Reserve Champion Mature Horse titles!  After naming Odet II the Champion Mare, Kristi Wysocki noted “it says a lot when the foal is even nicer than the mother.  I’m very impressed.”

Landmark VT was bred at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA under the guidance of Equine Science Assistant Professor, Dr. Rebecca Splan.  Karin Offield donated frozen Lingh semen to the Virginia Tech Breeding Program in 2007.  Their program offers Equine Science students hands-on experience in all aspects of breeding and raising Sporthorses.  We congratulate Virginia Tech and their students who prepared and presented this pair!

Karin Offield, owner of Lingh, is currently offering this outstanding stallion to mares in Europe for immediate late-season breeding.  Contact Hassler Dressage for more information. www.hasslerdressage.com.
